Quotes from Neal Bedard
Director, System Hardware C2 Microsystems The Verification Challenge
"We are a startup with a big ASIC design challenge, a limited amount of money, and even less time. The CC1000 is a big, complex SoC with about 4 million ASIC gates. It has multiple memory agents on multiple clock domains that would have been impossible to simulate in any reasonable schedule. FPGA Prototyping as close to system speed as possible was our only choice for verification. We had one chance. We had to get it right.
We liked the unique flexibility of HAPS. Having a general-purpose platform motherboard that could be quickly configured to our needs with off-the-shelf daughter boards made a lot of sense. We added a few of our own HAPS compatible daughter boards for special purpose functions, and quickly got our prototype operational. The HAPS flexibility includes the reuse of all these boards on our next project, even if we have to add a next generation HAPS motherboard to accommodate larger designs."

First Silicon Success
“HAPS helped us in several ways. First, we showed a working prototype of our design to potential investors. It made raising money easier. Second, the prototype thoroughly verified our design, including the discovery of a critical bug. And finally, we used it as a demo platform in early customer engagements. We had First Pass Silicon Success with one tape-out and one-mask. HAPS helped make it happen and is part of the CC1000’s success.”
Quote from Lars-Eric Lundgren
CEO HARDI Electronics
“We are delighted with the First Silicon Success of C2 Microsystems. While many of our customers are very large, mature companies, C2’s experience clearly demonstrates the HAPS value for startup companies as well.”
