Synplicity's
FPGA Synthesis Solutions Offer Full Support for Xilinx ISE 6.1i
Software
Synplicity’s FPGA Synthesis and FPGA Physical Synthesis
Solutions with Xilinx’s ISE Software Provides Users with a
Completely Integrated Design Environment
SUNNYVALE, Calif.,
September 9, 2003 — Synplicity Inc. (Nasdaq: SYNP), a leading
provider of software for the design and verification of semiconductors,
today announced its FPGA logic synthesis and physical synthesis
products now provide full support for the recently announced Xilinx
(Nasdaq: XLNX) Integrated Software Environment 6.1i (ISE). With
this support, Synplicity’s Synplify® and Synplify Pro®
FPGA synthesis software can work directly with Xilinx’s ISE
6.1i software, providing designers with a completely integrated
“plug-and-play” environment for achieving maximum design
performance and efficient area utilization. Customers using Synplicity’s
Synplify logic synthesis and Amplify® FPGA physical synthesis
products together with ISE 6.1i will have access to a complete FPGA
design solution for their high-speed designs.
The advanced
optimization technology of the Amplify FPGA, Synplify and Synplify
Pro products, coupled with the virtual speed grade reduction in
ISE 6.1i, provides the ultimate solution for meeting aggressive
timing goals using the most cost-effective FPGA devices. Designers
using this solution are afforded substantial area savings while
still meeting specified performance requirements. Synplicity’s
FPGA synthesis and physical synthesis software focus on the true
critical paths in designs, optimizing them for speed, while non-critical
paths are simultaneously optimized for area. This combination of
area and performance optimizations provides Xilinx designers with
best-in-class results for today’s complex programmable logic
design.
“Synplicity
and Xilinx understand the challenges associated with complex design
and are working together to deliver highly optimized solutions for
our mutual customers,” said Jeff Garrison, director of FPGA
products at Synplicity. “Leading edge devices like Spartan-3™
and Virtex-II Pro™ from Xilinx have opened up significant
new opportunities in electronic applications for programmable logic.
These applications require advanced design software like Synplify
Pro, Amplify and ISE 6.1i to get the most out of the silicon. We
believe our customers will experience a substantial increase in
performance and logic utilization when using this combined software
solution.”
“Partnering
with technology leaders like Synplicity enables us to deliver highly
integrated design solutions that address today’s design bottlenecks,”
said Steve Lass, director of software product marketing at Xilinx.
“Through our continued partnership, we are providing designers
with comprehensive design flows from synthesis to place and route.
These design solutions, coupled with Xilinx’s flagship Virtex-II
Pro™ Platform and 90nm/300 mm Spartan-3™ low-cost FPGAs,
create the highest performance, most cost-effective hardware/software
solution available in logic design today.”
About
Synplicity’s FPGA Synthesis and FPGA Physical Synthesis Software
Synplicity’s Synplify software helps programmable logic designers
rapidly achieve aggressive performance objectives. The Synplify
software takes designs written in VHDL or Verilog as input, and
compiles, optimizes and maps them into efficient, high-performance
netlists for all leading CPLD and FPGA devices. The Synplify Pro
software offers high quality of results and fast runtimes along
with an expanded feature set optimized to increase performance and
productivity for today’s complex programmable devices.
The Amplify
Physical Optimizer™ improves circuit performance and timing
closure and accelerates productivity by performing simultaneous
placement and logic optimization during the synthesis process. The
Amplify Physical Optimizer product has been used in hundreds of
programmable logic designs around the world.
Pricing
and Availability
The Amplify 3.2, Synplify 7.3 and Synplify Pro 7.3 software are
available now. Pricing for the Amplify software starts at $29,000
(U.S.), pricing for the Synplify software starts at $9,500 (U.S.)
and pricing for Synplify Pro software starts at $20,000 (U.S.).
