Synplicity's FPGA Synthesis Software Enables Lower Cost in Spartan-3 FPGAs with Optimal Area Reduction

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 15, 2003 — Synplicity, Inc. (Nasdaq:SYNP), a leading supplier of software for the design and verification of semiconductors, today announced support of Xilinx, Inc.’s (NASDAQ:XLNX) new class of 90nm Spartan® FPGA solutions – the Spartan-3 platform, which was announced April 14, 2003. Synplicity has optimized its Synplify® and Synplify Pro® FPGA synthesis software to provide a fast, easy-to-use solution for quickly reaching timing and cost goals for Xilinx’s new lowest-cost Spartan-3 FPGAs. With this announcement, Synplicity, a founding member of the Xilinx AllianceEDA program, continues to provide optimal support for Xilinx’s family of programmable logic devices and reaffirms its commitment to provide its mutual customers with best-in-class RTL-based solutions tailored for Xilinx’s high-density, low-cost programmable logic devices.
