Gary Meyers
President and Chief Executive Officer, Director

Gary Meyers has been President and CEO of Synplicity since October 2004. During his tenure Synplicity has re-focused on its core FPGA products, improved operating margins from 1% in 2003 to over 10% in 2006, expanded international R&D efforts, and grown market share and customer satisfaction. Mr. Meyers joined Synplicity in January 1998 and served as vice president, worldwide sales since November 1999. In that role, Mr. Meyers was instrumental in increasing sales by more than a factor of ten and expanding the direct sales team throughout North America, Europe and Asia.


Sheila Cheung
Vice President, Controller

Ms. Cheung joined Synplicity in October 2007 as VP Controller. In her role, she oversees the worldwide accounting and finance functions including revenue recognition, SEC external reporting, and Sarbanes Oxley compliance. Ms. Cheung has 18 years of both large and small public software/internet companies and public accounting experience.


Andrew Dauman
Senior Vice President, Worldwide Engineering

Andrew Dauman joined Synplicity in August 1994 as employee number three and has served as vice president, worldwide engineering since May 2005. In this role, Mr. Dauman oversees the company’s global engineering team, including applications engineering, to ensure new and existing products are developed and released on time and with continuous quality improvements.


Joe Gianelli
Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Alliances

Joe Gianelli joined Synplicity in April 1998, and has served as Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Alliances since June 2004. Mr. Gianelli is responsible for all strategic alliances, including development and marketing agreements with key silicon and EDA partners.


Andrew Haines
Senior Vice President of Marketing

Andrew Haines re-joined Synplicity as vice president of marketing in September 2004. His responsibilities include overseeing world-wide marketing activities and expanding Synplicity's leadership role in the FPGA synthesis market. Mr. Haines originally joined Synplicity in 1996 as the company's vice president of marketing and remained in that capacity until 2002, when he departed to pursue interests in the semiconductor intellectual property (IP) industry.


John J. Hanlon
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

John Hanlon joined Synplicity as senior vice president of finance, and chief financial officer in October 2005. His responsibilities, as leader of the finance team, will include overseeing worldwide finance-related activities including; accounting and external reporting, investor relations, strategic financial planning, as well as spearheading new financial opportunities.


Lars-Eric Lundgren
General Manager of Synplicity Hardware Platforms Group

Lars-Eric Lundgren joined Synplicity in June 2007 with the acquisition of the Swedish ASIC Prototyping Company; HARDI Electronics AB. Mr. Lundgren is responsible for all hardware development at Synplicity, including the current product line of HAPS (High-performance ASIC Prototyping System) and any future hardware products. The Hardware Platforms Group is located in Lund, Sweden.


Jim Lovas
Vice President, Worldwide Sales

Jim Lovas joined Synplicity in 1999 and has served as Vice President, Worldwide Sales since January 2006. In this role, Mr. Lovas' responsibilities include overseeing Synplicity's worldwide sales team, achieving the company's worldwide sales objective, continuing successful penetration into the ASIC Verification and DSP markets, and expanding Synplicity's leading market share position in FPGA synthesis.


Ken McElvain
Co-founder, Chief Technical Officer, Vice President, Director

Ken McElvain is a co-founder of Synplicity, which he started with Alisa Yaffa in 1994. Mr. McElvain is responsible for new product strategy, developing innovative technologies and algorithms, and contributing to key development projects.


Jim Robinson
Vice President of Corporate Applications

Jim Robinson joined Synplicity in July 1997 and has served as Vice President of Corporate Applications since May 2005. In this role, Mr. Robinson is responsible for overseeing Synplicity's Corporate Applications organization and the Development organizations for the ASIC Verification and FPGA Debug product lines. He is also responsible for Synplicity’s Technical Support Organization that, since 2004, has achieved high user satisfaction ratings in the EETimes Annual Electronic Design Automation Branding Study.


Alisa Yaffa
Co-founder, Chairman of the Board, and Vice President, Intellectual Property

Alisa Yaffa is a co-founder of Synplicity, which she started with Ken McElvain in 1994. Since 1997 she has served as the company's chairman of the board. Ms. Yaffa is also responsible for advising on issues relating to internal intellectual property matters.

Prabhu Goel
Board of Directors, Director

Dr. Goel is a private investor in many companies, and sits on the boards of five high-technology startups. He was the founder and CEO of Gateway Design Automation whose Verilog-XL simulator has become a worldwide standard. More recently, Dr. Goel founded and acted as chairman for Frontline Design Automation with merged with Avant! In 1996. He also spent eight years in research and development at IBM.

Mr. Goel holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.


Dennis Segers
Board of Directors, Director

Denis Segers has served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Matrix Semiconductor, Inc., a fabless semiconductor company, since September 2001 and has served on Martix's board of directors since February 1999. From December 1993 to September 2001, he served in various capacities at Xilinx, Inc., a supplier of digital programmable logic solutions, including Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Advanced Products Group. Mr. Segers served as a member of the board of directors of Xilinx from April 2000 to September 2001.

Mr Segers holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University.


Thomas Weatherford
Board of Directors, Director

Thomas Weatherford recently retired as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Business Objects, S.A., a provider of business intelligence software, having served in that position from 1997 until December 2002. He currently serves on the boards of Saba Software, Inc., a provider of human capital development and management solutions, Advanced Analogic Technologies, Inc., a maker of analog and power semiconductors, Tesco Corporation (NASDAQ-TESOF), a Canadian oilfield services company, and SMART Modular Technologies (NASDAQ-SMOD). Mr. Weatherford previously held senior financial positions at NETCOM On-Line Communication Services, Inc., Logitech International S.A., Texas Instruments Inc, Schlumberger GmbH, and Tandem Computers Inc. in the U.S., Europe and Japan.

Mr. Weatherford holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Houston.


Paul Weiskopf
Board of Directors, Director

As vice president of corporate development, Paul Weiskopf leads a team that works closely with senior executives to strengthen Adobe's execution of its business strategies across all product and geographic areas. He manages the company's activities in the areas of corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and venture investing, helping Adobe's product businesses evaluate the options for building, buying or partnering to deliver the most complete solutions to customers and extend Adobe's market ecosystem.

Since joining the company in March 2005, Weiskopf has played an instrumental role in the $3.4 billion acquisition of Macromedia, Inc., as well as a number of smaller acquisitions and venture investments.

Prior to Adobe Systems, Weiskopf held the position of vice president of strategy and corporate development for Hewlett-Packard. Before HP, Weiskopf served as vice president for two e-commerce companies, InsWeb and BenefitPoint. Prior to that, he worked in strategic consulting for Accenture and L.E.K. Consulting.
