FAE, Confirma Specialist:
As a Field Applications Engineer, you will join a growing, enthusiastic organization primarily providing pre-sales technical support on Confirma — the industry’s first integrated hardware and software solution addressing the cutting-edge at-speed ASIC prototyping market — to Synplicity’s ASIC verification customers. The FAE’s responsibilities will include working directly with customers to present technical information, provide demonstrations, resolve technical issues, and product training. The FAE also has responsibility to gain full understanding of customer issues and successfully drive those issues to closure, accomplishing these goals either independently or in cooperation with account managers and other FAEs and/or R&D engineers, and helping to exceed area sales goals. The FAE is responsible for timely resolution of customer issues and proactive contributions to the corporation in the areas of tool improvement and leveraged support. You will work within the Western Area Sales organization and report to the Western Area Technical Manager.
Experience:
- MSEE w/5+ years of experience or BSEE with 8+ with, emphasis in ASIC design verification.
- Hardware assisted ASIC design verification (prototyping, emulation) expertise.
- Experience with FPGA debug, P&R, and static timing analysis.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
- Ability to accommodate domestic travel as needed.

As a Corporate Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for upholding Synplicity’s high standard of technical support to our customers. You will actively demonstrate our philosophy that “high quality technical support is a key part of our products” by applying your technical skill and creativity in solving complex design, tool and methodology problems in order to make our customers successful.
You will also be part of the development team for our synthesis products, software tools dedicated to the cutting-edge of the programmable logic and FPGA market. You will contribute to making our products a technical and commercial success by helping create product specifications and by verifying our software from a customer’s perspective.
Experience:
As a minimum, you must have a solid grasp of digital design concepts. In addition, strong candidates will have the following qualities:
- Good understanding of logic and/or physical synthesis.
- MSEE w/5+ years of experience or BSEE with 8+ with, emphasis in logic design and design verification of FPGAs.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
- Knowledge of EDA tools and good working knowledge of VHDL and/or Verilog languages.
- Working knowledge of shell scripting languages.
- Experience with backend P&R, formal verification, or static timing analysis tools a plus.

Job Description:
As a Field Applications Engineer in the Bay Area, you will join a growing, enthusiastic organization primarily providing pre-sales and post-sales technical support to Synplicity’s FPGA implementation and ASIC verification customers. The FAE’s responsibilities will include working directly with customers to present technical information, provide demonstrations, resolve technical issues, and product training. The FAE also has responsibility to gain full understanding of customer issues and successfully drive those issues closure, accomplishing these goals either independently or in cooperation with account managers and other FAEs and/or R&D engineers, and helping to exceed area sales goals. The FAE is responsible for timely resolution of customer issues and proactive contributions to the corporation in the areas of tool improvement and leveraged support. Requirements:
BSEE degree with at least five years of directly related FPGA design experience. Candidates must have experience with HDL-based design (VHDL and Verilog), and FPGA design synthesis tools. Experience in using FPGAs in both end-product implementation and FPGA-based ASIC prototyping, DSP implementation in FPGAs and EDA tool support is preferred.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
